At Sustainable Nantucket, we are taking action to preserve and protect the environment of Nantucket. Our Sustainable Nantucket Green Council (SNGC) assisted the town with the process of becoming a member of the International Council of Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI) and is working with the Town of Nantucket to complete the milestones of ICLEI's Cities for Climate Protecton Campaign.

Current SNGC priorities include:

• Working with Town to assess community carbon emissions and set targets for reduction
• Collaborating with Energy Study Committee to develop Climate Protection Action Plan for Nantucket
• Researching and developing Green Building Incentive program for Nantucket as part of the Climate Protection Action Plan
