The SNYC has identified the excessive use of plastic water bottles on an island with excellent-quality water and limited landfill space as an area of primary concern to them. They have formed a Water team to address this concern through the distribution of water-testing kits and information designed to raise awareness about this issue at key locations around town this summer.

They also plan to approach the private clubs on the island to ask them to consider distributing glass or stainless steel containers to their clients and installing  reverse osmosis machines at their facilities.
